Reflections / Wrote 2 U

Reflections / Wrote 2 U is our first release under Mild Temperance. It is a double single project that emits a ballad-like energy, with lyrics of longing and regret. Both songs in this project are heavily inspired by the relationship seen in the early 1960’s classic, Breakfast At Tiffany’s. Light sounds of piano, vibrant snares, and of course, rich harmonies all make these pieces full of emotion. 

Reflections was written around a year before its release. We built the concept of the lyrics around the calming lofi aspects of the beat and went from there. Wrote 2 U was finished less than a month before the release. It was a bit of a last minute addition, but the way the two fit together so perfectly was just too good to pass up. 

Both the intro of Reflections and the outro of Wrote 2 U are what stand out to me the most. I love the way that the intro sounds like the beginning of a movie, and how the outro of Wrote 2 U is so beautifully full, with the piano and the last little vocal part, that I actually freestyled. Anyways, we hope you enjoy these songs as much as we enjoyed creating them :,)
